I’ve got good friends

I do, and they really showed up for me on Saturday for THE GIFT on grand. I’ve been working my ass off and had come pretty much unglued by Saturday morning but my amazing pit crew put the whole thing together. So thanks, to each and every one of you, I would have been lost without you. I’m still kinda unglued from the effort of the last couple weeks and my computer is being all slow and weird too so everything is taking me forever including updating my shop. I finally got it done and there are a few new birds there now.

The show on Saturday was great. It was my first time doing anything like that and I wasn’t sure what to expect but it went really well and I learned a lot. Thanks to everybody who came by to say hi and to Sodafine for putting it together.

I’ve been working on wedding cake toppers. The Bride and groom birds in the photo are gone but I should have some new things available by February .

The ship above is my newest “The Fortitude”. I’m going to take and post my customary too many pictures tomorrow.

That’s the Christmas tree at Grand Army Plaza here in Park Slope.

The Carolina

I’ve been on fire all day, not sure why. Maybe because I had chocolate cake (really good chocolate cake) for breakfast or because I had no wisdom tooth (which has been a big distraction and bother lately) pain at all today or that I got a lovely package in the mail or all those things combined with what a perfect September day it was – for whatever reason I had an exceptional day. The package was from Lisa ( her fabric give-away) and I love it. It’s all great. I’m going to build a ship around the flowered piece on the left. Thanks very much Lisa, it’s perfect.

And I did finally finish my ship, The Carolina.

Because I am a banana here’s a grainy little movie of it in action. Not much happens it just spins around.

Thanks

More great stuff in my mail this week. This beautiful (and beautifully made) purse is a surprise from Kathy winner of the whiplash acorn. I love it Kathy, it’s the perfect size and really lovely colors.

And this from Rose

It’s so up my alley, thanks Rose.

Thanks Marianne!

This is the first of several thank you posts for all the great stuff that has come in the mail the last week. Marianne sent this wonderful package.

3birdstring.jpg She included this felt bird string as a surprise and I love it. It’s adorable and beautifully made with
lots of interesting details. Each little bird is meticulously embroidered with a unique patten on one side and a little wing on the other. It’s hanging on the deep burgundy shutters in my apartment looking as if it was custom made for that very purpose. And the buttons!3applebuttons.jpg Little individually wrapped packages of fantastic buttons. One of the green buttons is featured on todays horse. I had a too busy (still catching up on email) and kind of lousy week and Marianne’s package arrived on one of the most miserable days. Beautiful buttons and gorgeous handmade birds were just what I needed. Thanks Marianne!
