chillingworth

“A striking evidence of man’s faculty of transforming himself into a devil, if he will only, for a reasonable space of time, undertake a devil’s office.”

owl made from black antique garments

Chillingworth, finally finished. I’m going to keep making things from the antique bodice he’s constructed from until there is nothing left at all.

  1. I’ve always liked your birds, and wanted a ship – but I LOVE him! I wish he could be mine, but I look forward to seeing what else you’ll make with the bodice.

The eyes are amazing! Really, really great!

  2. he’s frightfully good!
(i live in killingworth, which we occasionally call chillingworth, for a number of reasons!)

  3. Ann, I don’t know what it is about your owls but I am absolutely in love with them. I am not particularly fascinated by dark scary things but I think it is the size, shape and features of the owls that I like so much. I do hope you keep making them. They are a treat to look at.

He has such a sense of gravity about him. Beautiful use of materials. I love your work- it astonishes me.

  11. I love this owl! He reminds me of Poe’s Raven crossed with Sam the Eagle… But I think he’d have a british accent. “Nevermore? Oh, no. There will always be more… (Sinister laugh)”

  12. My niece will love this. She so into a series of books about owls, The Guardians of Gahoole. I might get this one for her, a great companion to her books.
