  1. Jack the Pulpit is my favoritest plant in the whole wide world!!!!! This is the best time to go see them in the woods!

  2. I found your blog through a photo of an Edwardian dress on Pinterest. I was searching for ideas on recreating my grandmother’s wedding gown. Your salamander photo took me completely by surprise. My favorite place in all the world is a cabin in Pennsylvania. As a child, I used to love searching for those little black polka-dotted orange salamanders after a night of rain. I never knew them to be found anywhere else and thought they were rather rare. My brook we called “the creek,” and there it was endless fun turning over rocks to find crayfish. A walk in the woods turned up all sorts of delicious berries and unique plants like the Jack-in-the-pulpit, and a huge variety of toadstools and fungus. Thanks for the mental vacation!
