Everything you need to know to create a stitched mushroom is in this 24 page downloadable PDF sewing pattern. The pdf file consists of 24 pages (including cover and pattern sheets) and is about 6.7 MB in size. The pattern includes instructions and templates and my top secret method for making a concave cap underside.
You will need Adobe Reader (free) to view this pattern. The templates make a mushroom approximately 6 inches long and 3 inches across the cap. The pattern scales up and down easily and includes a bonus mini size pattern.
Skill level is advanced beginners and above – requiring basic sewing skills – the mushrooms can be sewn entirely by hand or parts can be machine sewn. The instructions are very detailed. The pattern includes full sized pattern pieces, detailed step-by-step instructions, tons of color photographs – there are 70 instructional photos- and supply and resource lists.
The instructions for this pattern are very clear and include lots of photos. By following them step by step the mushrooms are very easy to make. I have made two large and one small – each unique and wonderful. There will be more – so much fun! This is a great pattern!

Oh my, this was such a fun project. It took me about 5 hours to make both mushrooms and I agree that you can tackle this project as an advanced beginner. The secret trick is so clever and easy to do to create the inner potion of the mushroom. The inner part had me worried at first but the photos are very clear and helpful. I definitely recommend this PDF pattern.
