organization

It’s not something I’m good at but I’m trying to cut down on the time I waste looking for stuff. This shelf is an effort in that direction and it’s working out – plus, I just plain like putting little things in little boxes.

I’m even worse at organizing my time and tasks and feel almost constantly overwhelmed or, no matter what I am doing, guilty or anxious about what I’m not doing. I’m going to try the Alice list/category system.

Despite the chronic mental disarray there is a lot of stuff getting accomplished; just not as fast or as much as I would like and not as efficiently as I think is possible. There are lots and lots of birds in progress ( if you’re on the bird waiting list you’ll be hearing from me soon). Here are a few doing their synchronized swimming routine.

  1. Those birds in progress are so beautiful! I can’t wait to see them as you finish them…

haha. I was just thinking this morning about how organizing isn’t my strong point. Glad I’m not the only one who has to do a little hunting about for bits and pieces. lol.

  2. big piles everywhere so you can see everything you have, seems to work for me. my cat loves it, and i just have tunnels all over the apartment.
    ha!

  3. I want to start using your adorable, distressed shelf and hand-written labeled boxes system! Oh my goodness, your organization, itself, is a work of art. It’s all plastic drawers and ziplocs over here. 🙂

  4. I love the swimming birds. So cute. You have inspired me with your shelf and little boxes. I have a distressed shelf I wasn’t sure what to do with. I think I will put little jars of different colored buttons on it. (The button collection is out of control!)
    I love your blog.

  5. thank you for sharing your feelings about time management, being overwhelmed, etc. i find myself constantly feeling like i’m not doing enough and share many (perhaps all?) of the feelings you’ve written about in this post. i’ve recently started making lists so hopefully that will work out. anyway, thanks again for the continued inspiration!
